Wafers and cookies Tanis
Estanislao Fernández has more than 40 years experience making wafers and ice cream in the town of Soto Iruz. What began as a part time job, became Barquillos y Galletas Tanis.
Containing flour, water, sugar and fats, the well blended dough is heated between two irons and baked. This is the artisan wafer that Tanis makes and that are tasted by millions of Spanish and French people, accompanied by ice-cream in summer.
The manufacture of their products is still done in the business hometown of Iruz, municipality of Santiurde de Toranzo, in a new building of 3,500 square metres.
