PRODUCERS AND CRAFTMANSHIP
La Sierra Farm
La Sierra is a family farm that produces, prepares and sells the following products:
- Yogurts (naturals and with bifidus): low acids and intense flavour.
- Three types of cheese:
- White cheese: fresh and barely ripened, a bland paste of sweet flavour and very low acids.
- Cheese spread
- Ripened cream cheese: with a dry, fine, smooth and soft crust, yellow colour and soft paste of a lightly yellow colour, ripened for 2-3 weeks, soft flavour, slightly salted and acid with yogurt flavour, sweet cream texture and buttery flavour.
All of its production, as well as the preparation, is regulated under the normative of ecological agriculture, supervised by the Regulation Council of Ecological Agriculture of Cantabria. The farm is the result of generations work for ground improvement, cottages to stable the livestock and a constant monitoring of the genetics and health of the animals. The pastures are sustainably treated, without herbicides, pesticides or chemical manures. The cattle are fed from pastures and grass and their alimentation is complemented with ecological cereals, without antibiotics or hormones.
