Monastery of La Canal

La Canal is formed by a group of religious constructions. On one side, a Friar Church and Conceptionist Monastery with a two-storey building and twenty Herreran arches from 18th century.

The facade and entrance to the Convent, however, are from the second half of 17th century. The construction repeats the monumental and classicist patterns of manors from the same period. In the Church and its open arches are two burial sculptures of the Monastery founders, the work of Cantabrian sculpture Gabriel de Rubalcaba, with the style of Gregorio Hernández.
